PowerGrid, a ‘Maharatna’ Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Power, Government of India, is inviting applications from qualified candidates for the positions of Junior Engineer (Survey Engineering), Surveyor, and Draughtsman. According to the official PowerGrid Recruitment 2024 notification, applicants must hold a Diploma in Survey Engineering or Civil Engineering from a recognized Technical Board/Institute. Essential Qualifications and Experience for PowerGrid Recruitment 2024

Junior Engineer (Survey Engineering):

• Full-Time Regular Three Years Diploma in Survey Engineering or Civil Engineering (with a focus on survey) from a recognized Technical Board/Institute with at least 70% marks.
• Higher technical qualifications like B.E./B.Tech. with or without a Diploma are not allowed at the time of application or joining.
• Minimum 4 years of post-qualification experience, with at least 2 years of experience in surveying for transmission lines using Total Station/DGPS/Drones/LIDAR survey operations and a minimum monthly gross wage/emolument of Rs. 25,000.

Surveyor:

• Full-Time Regular Two-year ITI (Surveyor) from a recognized Technical Board/Institute.
• Higher technical qualifications like a Diploma/B.E./B.Tech. with or without ITI are not allowed at the time of application or joining.
• At least 5 years of post-qualification experience in surveying for transmission lines using Total Station/DGPS/Drones/LIDAR survey operations.

Draughtsman:

• Full-Time Regular Two-year ITI (Draughtsman Civil) or ITI (Architectural Draughtsman) from a recognized Technical Board/Institute.
• Higher technical qualifications like a Diploma/B.E./B.Tech. with or without ITI are not allowed at the time of application or joining.
• At least 5 years of post-qualification experience with an architect, structural consultant, or organization engaged in engineering works, particularly in preparing drawings related to civil or electrical works using AUTOCAD software. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in power transmission/distribution/rural electrification or power sector companies.

Selection Process for PowerGrid Recruitment 2024

The selection process includes a Computer-Based Written Test and a Trade Test.

• Written Test: Objective type, 2 hours duration, consisting of two parts:
  • Part I: Technical/Professional Knowledge Test (TKT/PKT) with 120 questions related to specific disciplines.
  • Part II: Aptitude Test (AT) with 50 questions covering vocabulary, verbal comprehension, quantitative aptitude, reasoning ability, data sufficiency & interpretation, numerical ability, etc.
