NABARD RECRUITMENT OUT FOR MULTIPLE VACANCIES.

The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has invited online applications for the permanent positions of Development Assistant and Development Assistant (Hindi), with a total of 162 vacancies available. Interested candidates can apply online until 3 February 2026. Before submitting their applications, candidates are advised to thoroughly review the eligibility criteria, including age, educational qualifications, and other requirements.

The Development Assistant roles primarily involve administrative and clerical duties such as handling office documentation, managing data, assisting customers, coordinating with various departments, and supporting NABARD’s rural development and banking operations across its offices nationwide.

Vacancies & Eligibility

  • Development Assistant: 159 posts
    • Age: 21–35 years as of 01-01-2026
    • Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50 % aggregate marks (pass class for SC/ST/PWBD/Ex-Servicemen) and proficiency in word processing on a computer.
    • Pay Scale: ₹20,700 – ₹55,700 (approx. ₹46,500 gross per month).
  • Development Assistant (Hindi): 3 posts
    • Age: 21–35 years as of 01-01-2026
    • Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in English or Hindi medium with Hindi and English as compulsory or elective subjects (minimum 50 % marks), OR Bachelor’s with Hindi & English as main subjects. Candidates must be able to translate between English and Hindi and have word processing knowledge.

Age Relaxation

Upper age limits will be relaxed as per government norms for SC/ST, OBC, PWBD, Ex-Servicemen, and eligible women candidates.

Other Conditions

  • Final year students are not eligible; qualifications must be completed by 01-01-2026.
  • Applicants may apply for only one post and for vacancies in one state only.
  • Candidates must be proficient in the official language of the state they are applying for (reading, writing, speaking, and understanding).

Selection Process

The recruitment process includes three stages:

  1. Preliminary Examination (Online):
    • Qualifying in nature; marks not counted toward final selection.
    • Consists of tests on English, Numerical Ability/Professional Knowledge, and Reasoning.
  2. Main Examination (Online):
    • Marks from this exam are used to prepare the final merit list.
    • Includes sections such as Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, General Awareness (with a focus on agriculture, rural development, and banking), Computer Knowledge, and English (descriptive).
  3. Language Proficiency Test (LPT):
    • Candidates must clear a local language proficiency test unless exempted by having studied the language in Class 10 or 12.
    • This test is qualifying in nature.

Final selection will be based on the Main Exam marks, subject to qualifying in the Language Proficiency Test and verification of eligibility. In the event of a tie, the candidate with higher education level, higher graduation marks, or higher age will be preferred. A wait list up to 50 % of total vacancies will be maintained for one year.


Fee Structure

  • SC/ST/PWBD: ₹100 (intimation charges only)
  • All Other Categories: ₹550 (₹450 application fee + ₹100 intimation charges)
  • Applicable GST will be charged extra.

How to Apply

  • Apply online between 17-01-2026 and 03-02-2026 via the official NABARD recruitment portal.
  • Complete the registration with basic details, upload required documents (photograph, signature, thumb impression, handwritten declaration), and pay the application fee.
  • Ensure all information is correct before final submission.
  • Candidates do not need to send a printed application to NABARD.
