1. MHA will organize “G20 Conference on Crime and Security in the age of NFTs, AI and Metaverse” on 13th and 14th July, 2023 in Gurugram, Haryana

MHA will host the “G20 Conference on Crime and Security in the age of NFTs, AI, and Metaverse” in Gurugram, Haryana on July 13th and 14th, 2023. A Round Table was held in New Delhi to share conference details. The event will involve G-20 countries, invitees, and international bodies, as well as representatives from various ministries and organizations. The aim is to discuss cybercrime and security with experts from different fields.

2. Ministry of New & Renewable Energy organizes workshop on “Bioenergy for Sustainable Development: Case Studies and Best Practices”

The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) held a workshop on “Bioenergy for Sustainable Development: Case Studies and Best Practices” in New Delhi, in collaboration with UNIDO and GEF. 4. TRAI issues directions to Access Providers to stop misuse of message templates under TCCCPR-2018

TRAI has issued a direction to Access Providers to prevent the misuse of message templates as part of their efforts to curb Unsolicited Commercial Communication (UCC). The directive includes restrictions on the number of variable parts in message contents, the designation of an approving authority for content templates, pre-tagging of variable parts, and the inclusion of whitelisted URLs/Apks/OTT links/call back numbers in content templates. Telecom Service Providers must submit a compliance report within 45 days.

5. Quick Estimates of Index of Industrial Production and Use-Based Index for the Month of March 2023 (Base 2011-12=100)

The Quick Estimates of Index of Industrial Production (IIP) for March 2023 are released. The overall IIP stands at 150.5, with the mining, manufacturing, and electricity sectors at 154.2, 146.0, and 188.0 respectively. Use-based classification shows indices for different goods categories. February 2023 indices have undergone the first revision, and December 2022 indices have undergone the final revision. 6. 728 Railway stations are covered with 785 One Station One Product outlets in 21 States and 3 Union Territories across the country

The Ministry of Railways has launched the ‘One Station One Product’ (OSOP) scheme to promote local products and provide income opportunities. Currently, there are 785 OSOP outlets in 728 railway stations across 21 states and 3 union territories in India. These outlets showcase and sell indigenous and local products, such as handicrafts, handlooms, traditional garments, and local agricultural produce. The scheme aims to support the ‘Vocal for Local’ vision and benefit marginalized sections of society.

In class 10, the pass percentage is 93.12, higher than the 2019 pre-Covid pass percentage of 91.10.

10. Centre finalizes comprehensive ‘Model Prisons Act, 2023’ to focus on skill development of prisoners

The comprehensive ‘Model Prisons Act, 2023′ has been finalized by the Indian government to modernize the outdated Prison Act of 1894. The new act includes provisions for security assessment, segregation of prisoners, individual sentence planning, grievance redressal, prison development board, and accommodation for women prisoners and transgender individuals. It also emphasizes the use of technology for transparent prison administration and focuses on vocational training and skill development for prisoners’ reintegration into society.

11. Railways offers reservation, age relaxation, exemption from physical tests for Agniveers

Railways will offer reservation, age relaxation, and exemption from physical tests for Agniveers who have completed four years of defence service. Agniveers will receive a 10% reservation in Level-1 and 5% in Level-2 and above non-gazetted posts. They will also be exempt from physical efficiency tests. The first batch of Agniveers will receive a five-year age relaxation, while subsequent batches will receive a three-year age relaxation on top of the existing age limit for different communities.

The National Statistical Office has released the Consumer Price Index (CPI) numbers for April 2023. The data includes CPIs for rural, urban, and combined areas, as well as inflation rates and index changes. The CPI data was collected from various markets and villages across India.
