In April 2023, the WPI inflation rate stood at -0.92%, compared to 1.34% in March 2023. Prices of primary articles and fuel and power also experienced fluctuations, while manufactured products remained relatively stable. The WPI Food Index saw a slight increase, but the year-over-year inflation rate decreased. The WPI figures are provisional and subject to revision based on the final revision policy. The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) releases the wholesale price index numbers monthly, based on data collected from various sources and manufacturing units across India.
