India’s share in the world food grains market based on export values increased from 3.38% in 2010 to 7.79% in 2022. The country has experienced steady growth in foodgrain exports over the last few years. The top 10 agriculture products exported from India include marine products, rice, sugar, spices, and buffalo meat. The USA, China, and Bangladesh are among the top importers of India’s agriculture products. The Agricultural & Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) supports exporters through various schemes and forums to promote exports. Additionally, the establishment of Farmer Producer Organizations (FPO) helps enhance competitiveness in foreign markets.
National IPR Policy 2016: Encouraging Innovation & Protection for Inventors – All You Need to Know
The National IPR Policy 2016 covers 8 types of intellectual property rights: Patents, Trademarks, Industrial Designs, Copyrights, Geographical Indications, Semiconductor Integrated Circuit Layout Design, Trade Secret, and Plant Varieties. The policy aims to promote innovation and creativity, providing incentives and protection for inventors and creators. Various measures have been implemented, including fee rebates, expedited examination for specific applicants, and awareness initiatives. Additionally, the policy focuses on modernizing IP offices and encouraging the commercialization of intellectual property. Each type of right is governed by specific Acts and Rules, defining the subject and term of protection. Additionally, Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) provides health cover of Rs. 5 lakh per family per year to entitled families for secondary and tertiary care hospitalization in public and private hospitals across India.
