Jammu & Kashmir, June 3, 2024 – The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has announced a big step to strengthen the Prisons Department by reopening 216 important job positions. This includes 210 Warder positions and 6 Warder Driver roles.
These jobs were initially canceled because they were empty for over two years. However, after careful consideration, the government decided to bring them back. The Director General (DG) of Prisons, J&K highlighted the need to fill these roles to maintain security and operations in the prisons.
The Finance Department and the General Administration Department agreed on the importance of these jobs. They approved the reopening of these positions under Pay Level L2 (₹19,900-63,200). This pay scale is expected to attract good candidates.
Now, the Jammu and Kashmir Service Selection Board (J&K SSB) will start the hiring process for these jobs. This move aims to improve the working of the Prisons Department, ensuring better management and security in the state’s prisons.
Chandraker Bharti, IAS and Principal Secretary to the Government, signed the order, showing the government’s commitment to improving the prison system. This decision is seen as a positive step towards solving the staffing issues in the Prisons Department.
Many people have welcomed this move, expecting it to make the prison system in Jammu and Kashmir safer and more efficient. The department is looking forward to a stronger and better-managed prison system with these new hires.
