The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the much-awaited Storytelling Competition for the academic session 2024-25. Categories of Participation
The competition is divided into four categories to ensure fair and relevant competition among students:
- Primary (Class 3 to 5)
- Middle (Class 6 to 8)
- Secondary (Class 9 to 10)
- Senior Secondary (Class 11 to 12)
Topics and Language for CBSE Storytelling Competition 2024-25
Students can choose from a list of topics provided in Annexure I. They can narrate their stories in either Hindi or English, allowing for a broader range of expression and creativity.
Levels of Participation
The competition is structured in three levels:
- School Level (16th July 2024 to 13th August 2024):
- Schools will conduct their own storytelling competitions and select the best entry from each category to represent them at the regional level.
- Regional Level (13th August 2024 to 27th August 2024):
- This level will be conducted digitally through the CBSE Storytelling App. Each CBSE region will select the best story in each category. Winners will receive an online Merit Certificate.
- National Level:
- The top entries from the regional level will compete at the national level, evaluated by a committee of experts. Winners at this level will also receive an online Merit Certificate.
Registration and Submission For CBSE Storytelling Competition 2024-25
After the school-level competitions, schools must register their selected entries via the CBSE Storytelling web portal ‘मेरी कहानी, मेरी जुबानी’. Registration is open from 13th August 2024 to 27th August 2024.
Uploading Videos:
- Schools must upload their students’ storytelling videos through the CBSE Storytelling App, available on Google Playstore, from 13th August 2024 to 27th August 2024.
- Consent letters from parents or guardians are required before uploading the videos.
Video Duration and Size
The maximum duration and size of the videos vary by category:
- Primary: Up to 2 minutes
- Middle: 2-3 minutes (not more than 2 MB)
- Secondary: 3-4 minutes
- Senior Secondary: 3-4 minutes
Assessment Criteria
Entries will be judged on the following criteria:
- Creativity
- Fluency
- Content Delivery
- Coherence
- Expression
Participation in this competition can be credited to the student’s portfolio as part of their internal assessment.
