New Delhi, May 15, 2024 – IndiaSkills 2024, the nation’s largest and most prestigious skill competition, is set to commence on May 15 in New Delhi. Organized by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), the grand inauguration will be held at Yashobhoomi, Dwarka. This four-day event will feature over 900 participants from more than 30 states and Union Territories, along with over 400 industry experts.
Showcase of Talent Across 61 Skills
IndiaSkills 2024 will see competitors demonstrating their abilities in 61 different skills, spanning traditional crafts and cutting-edge technologies. Of these, 47 skill competitions will be conducted onsite at the event venue, while 14 will be held offsite in Karnataka, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Gujarat, leveraging the best infrastructure available in these states. Additionally, participants will engage in nine exhibition skills, including Drone-Film Making, Textile-Weaving, Leather-Shoemaking, and Prosthetics-Makeup.
Extensive Training and Preparation
The participants have been rigorously trained in various institutions such as Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs), National Skill Training Institutes (NSTIs), Polytechnics, engineering institutes, nursing institutes, and biotechnology institutes. This reflects the high standard of skill development training available in India. The winners of IndiaSkills 2024 will receive further training from top industry experts to prepare for the WorldSkills Competition in Lyon, France, scheduled for September 2024. This international competition will bring together 1,500 competitors from over 70 countries.
Significance of IndiaSkills 2024

National Credit Framework and NSQF Alignment
This year, participants will have the chance to earn credits within the National Credit Framework. All skills showcased in the competition are aligned with the National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF), enabling participants to convert their learning outcomes into recognized credits that can be used to advance their careers.
Competition Information System – Qrencia
For the first time, IndiaSkills will incorporate a competition information system called Qrencia, which will streamline the management and organization of the event, ensuring a smooth and efficient competition process.
Rigorous Selection Process
Approximately 2.5 lakh candidates registered through the Skill India Digital Hub (SIDH) Portal. Following a stringent pre-screening process, 26,000 candidates were shortlisted, and this data was shared with states to organize state- and district-level competitions. From these, over 900 participants were selected for the national competition.
