Project Position in Medical Microbiology

Position: Temporary on Contract Basis
Project Title: ‘Generic Protocol for Diagnostic Evaluation of Index Molecular Test Kit(s) for Adult Pulmonary Tuberculosis Detection’

The Department of Medical Microbiology at PGIMER, Chandigarh, invites applications for a temporary position under an ICMR-approved study. The position, under the guidance of Dr. Sunil Sethi, entails working on a project aimed at evaluating molecular test kits for detecting adult pulmonary tuberculosis.

Job Details:

• Position Type: Temporary, subject to periodic project extensions
• Duration: Contractual basis as per ICMR terms and conditions
• Termination: Notice period of one month from either party without specified reasons

Responsibilities:

• Conduct diagnostic evaluations of molecular test kits
• Compare results with microbiological reference standards
• Collaborate with the research team for project objectives
• Ensure adherence to project timelines and protocols

Qualifications and Experience:

• Project Qualification: Three-year graduate in the relevant subject/field
  • Technical Support I: Three years of research experience or PG in the relevant subject/field
  • Technical Support II: 12th in Sciences + Diploma (MLT/DMLT) + Five years of technical experience
• Desirable: Prior experience in Medical Microbiology or Mycobacteriology
• Age Limit: Maximum 35 years for Technical Support I; Maximum 30 years for Technical Support II
