National Awards to Teachers 2022-23: How to Self-Nominate

National Awards to Teachers 2022-23: The Ministry of Education, Government of India, is inviting self-nominations from teachers and principals affiliated with private independent schools for the National Awards to Teachers 2022-2023. These prestigious awards recognize the outstanding contributions of educators who have made a significant impact on the lives of their students.

Who is Eligible?

To be eligible for the National Awards to Teachers, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Teachers: Must have completed at least 10 years of regular service as a teacher in schools affiliated with a recognized Board of school education by March 31, 2023. Teachers retired on or after March 31, 2023 are also eligible to apply.
  • Principals: Must have completed 10 years of regular service as a teacher and 5 years as a Principal in CBSE-affiliated schools by March 31, 2023. Principals cannot apply in the category of teachers.

How to Apply

The application process is entirely online. To apply, visit the official CBSE website at https://cbseit.in/cbse/2023/tchawrd/Instruction.aspx and click on the “National Awards to Teachers” link. You will need to create an account and then complete the online application form.

Required Documents

Along with the application form, you must submit the following documents:

  • Undertaking: A signed undertaking stating that all the information you have provided is correct and that the documents you have uploaded are genuine.
  • Recommendation Letters: Two recommendation letters from your school principal or other senior colleagues.
  • Certificates/Degrees: Copies of your educational certificates and mark sheets.
  • Class Result in Board/School: Your class result in the board/school where you are currently teaching.
  • Photograph: A recent passport-sized photograph.
  • Video: A short video (up to 2 minutes long) introducing yourself and talking about your teaching philosophy.

Selection Process

Applicants will be shortlisted based on their experience, age, qualifications, performance in qualifying exams, and the quality of their video submission. Shortlisted applicants will be invited to an interactive session with the National Level Scrutiny Committee. The Committee will then select the final six nominees.

Deadline

The last date to submit applications is July 12, 2023.
