The North Eastern Space Applications Centre (NESAC) is inviting applications for the positions of Research Scientist and Junior Research Fellow. The selected candidates will be based at NESAC, Umiam, Meghalaya. There are 08 vacancies for these roles.
Position Details and Vacancies NESAC is looking to fill the following positions:
- Research Scientist: 1 Vacancy
- Junior Research Fellow: 7 Vacancies Total: 8 Vacancies
Salary
- Research Scientist: The selected candidate will receive a salary in Pay Level 10 of the Pay Matrix, approximately Rs. 56,100 per month, plus DA, HRA, and medical benefits.
- Junior Research Fellow: The salary for this position will be Rs. 37,000 per month.
Qualifications and Experience
- Research Scientist: Candidates should have an M.Sc. or M.Tech in Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Remote Sensing & GIS, or Water Resources, with at least one year of relevant experience.
- Junior Research Fellow: Applicants must have an M.Sc. or M.Tech in Geography, Applied Geography, Geoinformatics, Remote Sensing and GIS, Rural Planning, Urban Planning, or a related field with a valid NET/GATE/N-JET score, along with experience in data handling and land use change modeling.
Eligibility Criteria
- Research Scientist: Maximum age of 35 years.
- Junior Research Fellow: Maximum age of 28 years.
Tenure
- Research Scientist: The position is temporary for 1 year, extendable up to 3 years based on performance.
- Junior Research Fellow: Initially 1 year, extendable up to 5 years or until project completion.
Job Location The positions are based at NESAC, Umiam, Meghalaya, but candidates may be deputed to other locations in India as needed.
Selection Process The selection will be through a Walk-in Interview. The interviews will be held on 05-08-2024 and 06-08-2024 at NESAC, Umiam. Candidates must bring their biodata, original documents, and self-attested copies.
