OFFICE ATTENDANT VACANCIES OUT AT RESERVE BANK OF INDIA.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has announced online applications for the permanent recruitment of 572 Office Attendant (Class IV) posts across various RBI offices in India. Eligible candidates can apply online up to 04 February 2026. Applicants are strongly advised to ensure that they satisfy all eligibility conditions before submitting the application.

The tentative dates for the online examination are 28 February and 01 March 2026.


Job Profile – Office Attendant (Class IV)

The Office Attendant role involves physical and routine office-related duties such as:

  • Handling and movement of files, records, and office materials
  • Delivery of documents and utility items
  • Opening and closing of offices or departments
  • Photocopying and other non-clerical support work
  • Any additional tasks assigned by senior officials as per operational needs

Important Notes:

  • Candidates who are graduates or possess higher qualifications are not eligible.
  • Applicants must have working knowledge of the local language of the State/UT they are applying for.

Age Relaxation

  • SC/ST: 5 years
  • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years
  • PwBD: 10 years (General), 13 years (OBC), 15 years (SC/ST)
  • Ex-Servicemen: Length of military service + 3 years (maximum age limit: 50 years)
  • Widows/Divorced/Judicially Separated Women (not remarried):
    • Up to 35 years (40 years for SC/ST)

Nationality Requirements

Applicants must be:

  • A citizen of India, or
  • A subject of Nepal or Bhutan, or
  • A Tibetan refugee who entered India before 01-01-1962 with intent to permanently settle, or
  • A Person of Indian Origin who migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, or specified East African countries with the intention of permanent settlement in India

Additional Eligibility Conditions

  • Candidates from any state may apply, subject to local language proficiency.
  • Ex-servicemen must have completed at least 15 years of defence service and must not have graduated outside the Armed Forces.

  • Duration: 90 minutes
  • Except for English, the test will be available in English, Hindi, and selected regional languages depending on the exam centre.
  • Negative marking: ¼ mark deducted for each incorrect answer.
  • Candidates must qualify each section separately.
  • Scores will be normalised if the exam is conducted in multiple sessions.
  • Minimum qualifying marks will be decided by RBI.

Language Proficiency Test (LPT)

Candidates shortlisted from the online test must appear for a mandatory and qualifying Language Proficiency Test in the local language of the State/UT applied for. Failure to qualify will result in disqualification, regardless of online test scores.

  • SC / ST / PwBD / Ex-Servicemen: ₹50 + 18% GST
  • General / OBC / EWS: ₹450 + 18% GST
  • RBI Staff Candidates: No fee

How to Apply – Step-by-Step

Step 1: Pre-Application Check

  • Verify eligibility regarding age, qualification, nationality, and language.
  • Keep a valid email ID and mobile number active.
  • Prepare required documents in digital format.

Step 2: Document & Image Specifications

  • Photograph, live photo, signature, left thumb impression, and handwritten declaration must meet prescribed size and format requirements.

Step 3: Online Registration

  • Register on the IBPS portal.
  • Receive provisional registration number and password via email/SMS.

Step 4: Application Form

  • Log in and fill personal, educational, and category details.
  • Upload required documents.
  • Review all information before submission.

Step 5: Fee Payment

  • Pay fees online using card, net banking, IMPS, or wallet.
  • Do not refresh or exit during payment.

Step 6: Final Submission

  • Submit the form by 04 February 2026.
  • No hard copy submission is required.
  • Download and save the application form and e-receipt.

Edit Window

  • A correction window will be provided after the closing date.
  • Only limited fields can be edited once.
  • Correction fee: ₹200 (inclusive of GST).
  • The latest edited application will be considered final.
