Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) have announced 312 vacancies for various Isolated Category posts across different Zonal Railways under Centralized Employment Notice (CEN) No. 08/2025. Applications are invited online only, and the last date to submit the application is 29 January 2026. Applicants are advised to thoroughly check their eligibility and ensure compliance with all prescribed conditions before applying.
The recruitment covers a wide range of posts including translators, legal professionals, inspectors, assistants, supervisors, and laboratory staff. These roles involve administrative responsibilities, technical and laboratory support, inspection and welfare activities, training-related functions, and statutory duties, depending on the post and department.

Chief Law Assistant

- Age Limit: 18–40 years
- Qualification:
- Degree in Law with a minimum of 3 years’ standing practice as a pleader at the Bar, or
- Serving Railway employees who are Law Graduates with at least 5 years of service in any Railway department

Public Prosecutor

- Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Law with 5 years’ standing as an advocate at the Bar

Junior Translator (Hindi)

- Master’s Degree in Hindi or English with the other language as a compulsory/elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level, or

- Master’s Degree in any subject with both Hindi and English as compulsory/elective subjects

Selection Process
Single Stage Computer Based Test (CBT)
- Objective-type multiple-choice examination
- Total Questions: 100
- Duration: 90 minutes (120 minutes for PwBD candidates using a scribe)
- Negative Marking: ⅓ mark deducted for each incorrect answer
Question Distribution (except Junior Translator):
- Professional Ability: 50
- General Awareness: 15
- General Intelligence & Reasoning: 15
- General Science: 20
The CBT will be available in English, Hindi, and 13 regional Indian languages. The chosen language cannot be changed after registration.
Translation Test (For Junior Translator – Hindi)
Candidates qualifying the CBT will appear for a Translation Test. Shortlisting will be done at 10 times the number of vacancies based on CBT merit.
Document Verification
Shortlisted candidates will be called for verification of original documents submitted during the online application.
Medical Examination
Candidates clearing document verification must undergo a medical fitness test conducted by the Railway Administration.
Application Fee
- SC/ST/PwBD/Female/Transgender/Ex-Servicemen/Minority/EBC: ₹250 (refundable after appearing in CBT)
- Other Candidates: ₹500 (₹400 refundable after appearing in CBT)
How to Apply
- Applications must be submitted online only using a valid mobile number and email ID.
- Existing RRB candidates may use their previous login credentials; new applicants must create a fresh account.
- Identity verification through Aadhaar or DigiLocker is strongly recommended.
- Select exam language and zone preferences carefully (multiple applications will be rejected).
- Upload required documents, including scanned signature and certificates (where applicable).
- A live photograph will be captured during the application process.
- After final submission, no hard copy needs to be sent to the RRB.
Candidates should retain a copy of the submitted application form for future reference.
