CBSE launches a groundbreaking program to equip teachers across India with financial literacy and digital skills, fostering personal growth and cyber awareness.
CBSE Program on Financial Literacy
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has taken a pioneering step in enhancing the financial literacy and digital awareness of teachers across India. With a focus on imparting essential financial planning skills and knowledge to help educators guard against cyber fraud, phishing, and more, this program aims to equip them with valuable skills that can influence their personal and professional lives positively. This initiative is a part of the Investor Education and Awareness Initiative outlined in SEBI (Mutual Funds) Regulations, 1996.
The CBSE program is divided into two rounds, each covering multiple cities and states. The program is designed to take place offline, with each session lasting two hours. The first round, intended for hub schools, will encompass various states including Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Delhi, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, and more. Topics to be covered include the basics of financial literacy and practical understanding of digital tools.
Hub Schools and Lead Roles
Hub Leader Schools will serve as the focal point of these training sessions. They will host the training and ensure the availability of venues with a capacity of over 100 participants. The Lead Schools will also provide necessary equipment like projectors and audio systems for the trainers.
Participation and Registration
Principals of CBSE-affiliated schools are encouraged to nominate teachers for the program. Teachers can register through an online link provided in the notification. The program offers multiple sessions across various cities, with a maximum of 100 teachers allowed per session on a first-come, first-served basis.
