CBSE to Conduct Sensitization Programme on Financial Literacy and Digital Tools for Teachers

New Delhi, October 13, 2023 – The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced a significant initiative aimed at enhancing the financial literacy and digital tool expertise of teachers across the country. In an effort to address the pressing need for these skills in the current scenario, CBSE is set to roll out the Sensitization Programme, which will offer teachers valuable insights into basic financial planning and how to protect themselves against phishing and cyber fraud. This program aligns with the Investor Education and Awareness Initiative under the SEBI (Mutual Funds) Regulations, 1996.

Empowering Educators

The Sensitization Programme on Financial Literacy and the use of Digital Tools seeks to empower educators with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate the digital age successfully. The curriculum will cover a range of critical topics, including:

  1. Basic Financial Planning: Teachers will gain a comprehensive understanding of financial planning, helping them make informed decisions for their future.
  2. Cybersecurity Awareness: The program will provide insights on identifying and avoiding phishing attacks and cyber frauds, safeguarding both personal and financial information.
  3. Digital Tools Utilization: Teachers will be introduced to various digital tools that can aid in their professional development and in delivering effective education.

This initiative is an integral part of CBSE’s commitment to enhancing the quality of education and the well-being of its teachers. The board acknowledges that staying updated on these matters is crucial for educators to plan their future more effectively.
