Skyroot Aerospace successfully tests 3D-Printed Cryogenic Engine for Vikram 2 rocket at a test facility in Nagpur.

On April 5, 2023, Skyroot Aerospace, a private aerospace company, successfully conducted a fire test of a 3D-printed cryogenic engine at a testing facility in Nagpur. This engine was designed to support the Vikram 2 rocket, which was launched in the previous year. The Dhawan-II engine, named after the esteemed Aerospace Engineer Dr. Satish Dhawan, is a 3.5-kilo Newton cryogenic engine. Cryogenic engines are typically used in the upper stages of rockets and can travel farther than modern gas engines.
