DPIs have played a pivotal role in this leap, with specific mention of the Unified Payments Interface (UPI), which accounted for nearly 50% of India’s nominal GDP in the fiscal year 2022–23. Additionally, the document underscores how DPIs have improved efficiency for private organizations and the benefits of KYC procedures, leading to lower costs and more attractive services for lower-income clients.

The 21st edition of the India-France bilateral naval exercise ‘Varuna-23‘ took place in the Arabian Sea, involving guided missile frigates, a tanker, Maritime Patrol Aircraft, and helicopters from both sides. The exercise spanned three days and included joint operations, replenishment at sea, and tactical maneuvers.

Indigenous Basic Trainer Aircraft for Indian Armed Forces
Advancing Defense Capabilities
Air Marshal Ashutosh Dixit, Deputy Chief of the Air Staff, flew the Hindustan Turbo Trainer Aircraft – 40 (HTT-40) Basic Trainer Aircraft in Bengaluru. Manufactured by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), this indigenous aircraft is designed to meet the training needs of the Indian Armed Forces.
The HTT-40 is a fully aerobatic aircraft with a four-bladed turbo-prop engine, a modern glass cockpit, advanced avionics, and safety features including a zero-zero ejection seat. It has a maximum speed of 450 kilometers per hour and a service ceiling of six kilometers.
The IAF has a contract with HAL for 70 HTT-40 aircraft, with induction starting in September 2025. This aircraft will enhance pilot training, and a Full Mission Simulator will be included to supplement aerial training. This initiative aligns with the government’s vision of ‘Atma Nirbhar Bharat‘ for greater self-reliance in defense and aviation.
