    • Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra: Annual Festival in Puri Begins Today with Grand Celebrations

    • Government Securities Auction: 7.17%, 7.41%, and 7.25% GS for Sale in India
      • The Government of India plans to conduct an auction for the sale of three government securities: ‘7.17% GS 2030,’ ‘7.41% GS 2036,’ and ‘7.25% GS 2063.’ The auctions will be held on June 23, 2023, and will be managed by the Reserve Bank of India. The notified amounts for the securities are Rs 7,000 crore, Rs 12,000 crore, and Rs 12,000 crore, respectively. The government also has the option to retain an additional subscription of up to Rs 2,000 crore for each security. The auctions will follow different price-based auction methods. Successful bidders are required to make their payments on June 26, 2023.
    • New BIS Standards: Mandatory License for Footwear Products from July 2023
      • The Director General of the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) emphasized the importance of standards in ensuring high-quality products for consumers.       • India and the UK concluded the tenth round of talks for an India-UK Free Trade Agreement (FTA).     • Record Growth in Gross Direct Tax Collections for FY 2023-24: ₹4,19,338 Crore
      • Gross Direct Tax collections for the current fiscal year have grown by 12.73 percent, reaching ₹4,19,338 crore. Net collections have increased by 11.18 percent, totaling ₹3,79,760 crore. The collections include Corporation Tax at ₹1,87,311 crore and Personal Income Tax at ₹2,31,391 crore. Additionally, Advance Tax collections for the first quarter of 2023-24 have grown by 13.70 percent, amounting to ₹1,16,776 crore. Refunds worth ₹39,578 crore have also been issued so far in 2023-24.
    • “IndiGo Orders 500 Airbus A320 Family Aircraft: Largest Ever Single Purchase in Aviation History
      • IndiGo, an airline, has made the largest-ever single aircraft purchase with Airbus by ordering 500 A320 Family aircraft. The delivery of these aircraft will take place between 2030 and 2035, adding to IndiGo’s existing fleet of over 300 planes and previous orders for 480 more. The specific engine selection and aircraft mix will be determined later. Overall, IndiGo’s order-book now consists of nearly 1,000 aircraft to be delivered in the next decade, including A320NEO, A321NEO, and A321XLR models.
