Chandrayaan-3 includes an indigenous Lander module, Propulsion module, and a Rover for interplanetary missions. Essential tests have been successfully completed according to Science and Technology Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh.
   • IIT Bombay Ranks in Top 150 in QS World University Rankings: Impressive Achievement!
     • IIT Bombay is ranked among the top 150 universities in the world according to the QS World University Rankings. This achievement has been praised by Union Minister Rajiv Chandrasekhar, who believes that Indian universities are now world-class. A total of 45 Indian universities made it to the rankings, thanks to the efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the implementation of a new education policy. IIT Bombay holds the 149th position, followed by IIT Delhi at 197th.
   • Important Changes to LRS and TCS: Updates on Tax Collection and Remittance Scheme
     • The Indian government has made important changes regarding the Liberalised Remittance Scheme (LRS) and Tax Collection at Source (TCS). The rate of TCS remains unchanged for all purposes under LRS and for overseas travel tour packages up to Rs. 7 lakh per individual per year. The implementation of revised TCS rates and inclusion of credit card payments in LRS has been postponed. The increased TCS rates will now take effect from October 1, 2023.
   • India Gifts INS Kirpan, an Indigenously Built Missile Corvette, to Vietnam Navy
     • INS Kirpan, an indigenously built missile corvette, is being handed over to the Vietnam People’s Navy as a gift from India. The ship set sail from Visakhapatnam on its final journey to Vietnam. The transfer highlights India’s commitment to enhancing the capacity and capability of its partners and signifies the strong relationship between India and Vietnam. It is the first time India has gifted a fully operational corvette to a friendly foreign country.
   • INS Trishul’s Seychelles Visit Strengthens Ties and Celebrates National Day
     • INS Trishul arrived in Seychelles for the Seychelles National Day celebrations. The visit strengthens India’s ties with Seychelles, involving joint surveillance and meetings with Seychelles’ defense leaders.

   • CCEA Approves Farmer Schemes, Urea Subsidy Continuation, and Nano Urea Plants: Boosting Agriculture and Farmers’ Income
     • The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) approved a package of schemes for farmers, including the continuation of the Urea Subsidy Scheme. The total outlay for these schemes is Rs. 3,70,128.7 crore, with Rs. 3,68,676.7 crore committed to urea subsidy for three years. The Urea Subsidy Scheme ensures the availability of urea to farmers at a consistent price. The government has also increased fertilizer subsidies to protect farmers from rising prices. Additionally, plans are in place to commission eight Nano urea plants by 2025-26, which will contribute to higher crop yield and cost savings for farmers.
   • Launch of ‘CHAMPIONS 2.0 Portal’ & Geo-tagging App Empower Women Entrepreneurs in MSME Sector
     • The Union Minister for Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises launched the ‘CHAMPIONS 2.0 Portal’, a mobile app for geo-tagging cluster projects, and the MSME Idea Hackathon 3.0 for women entrepreneurs. These initiatives aim to support the growth of MSMEs, which are expected to contribute 50% of the country’s GDP by 2030. The event also celebrated ‘Udyami Bharat-MSME Day’ and recognized the role of Indian MSMEs in the country’s economy. Certificates were distributed to Gold and Silver ZED-certified MSMEs, and subsidies were released for new Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme units.
   • Central Government’s Tomato Grand Challenge to Tackle Rising Prices and Improve Production
     • The Central Government plans to launch the Tomato Grand Challenge to address the increasing prices of tomatoes. The challenge aims to gather innovative ideas to enhance tomato production, processing, and storage. The Tamil Nadu government has also taken steps to sell tomatoes at a reduced price through farm-fresh outlets. The rise in prices is temporary and seasonal, influenced by transportation disruptions and adverse weather conditions.

   • India Excluded from UN Report on Children and Armed Conflict: Government’s Efforts Rewarded
     • India has been excluded from the United Nations General Assembly Security Council Children and Armed Conflict Report due to its efforts to protect children. The government engaged in various actions, including appointing a national focal point and holding meetings with the United Nations. A road map for cooperation on child protection was developed under the leadership of the Union Minister of Women and Child Development. As a result, India has been removed from the report.

   • Asian Junior Champion Kirti and Nikita Progress to Quarterfinals of Youth Women’s National Boxing Championship
     • Asian Junior Champion Kirti and two-time Asian junior champion Nikita both advance to the quarterfinals of the 6th Youth Women’s National Boxing Championship in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. Kirti secures a 5:0 victory against Manisha Giri, while Nikita wins a hard-fought bout against Anamika Yadav. Kirti will face Keerthana Lakshmi, and Nikita will compete against Sakshi in the quarterfinals.
   • Calcutta Team Emerges Victorious in Historic Dubai Women’s Kabaddi Final
     • Calcutta team wins historic Dubai Women’s Kabaddi Final, defeating Punjab team. The tournament lasted 12 days and included eight teams from different Indian states. Esteemed figures and Indian diaspora attended the final ceremony, organized by the Women’s Kabaddi League. The event provided a global platform for Indian women Kabaddi players, promoting cultural exchanges and strengthening ties between India and the United Arab Emirates.
   • Haryana CM, Ladakh LG Congratulate Students in Fit India Quiz 2022 | Biggest Sports and Fitness Quiz in India
     • Haryana CM and Ladakh LG congratulate students participating in Fit India Quiz 2022. The quiz is India’s biggest on sports and fitness, with a total prize money of Rs 3.25 crore. The State rounds are streamed on Fit India’s YouTube channel, and the State finals will be aired on Doordarshan. 348 schools were selected for the state level stage after a preliminary examination. Indian hockey and badminton stars also support the quiz.
   • Special Olympics Bharat Honors Indian Medalists from World Games 2023 in Grand Ceremony
     • Special Olympics Bharat honored Indian medalists from the Special Olympics World Summer Games 2023 in Berlin at a grand ceremony in New Delhi. The Indian contingent won a total of 202 medals, including 76 gold, 75 silver, and 51 bronze. The event featured cultural performances and speeches from dignitaries, including the 14th President of India and former cricketer Gautam Gambhir. The athletes received tokens of appreciation and were applauded for their achievements. Special Olympics Bharat aims to provide dignity and independence to the athletes and will continue its efforts in that direction.
