DMRC Launches “Bhoomi” Tunnel Boring Machine for Janakpuri West to RK Ashram Metro Corridor

DMRC has launched a Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) named “Bhoomi” at Derawal Nagar metro station for the Janakpuri West to RK Ashram metro corridor. The tunnel will be approximately 3 km long, with varying depths underground. The TBM is equipped with the BEAM system, which predicts geological strata ahead of the machine’s cutter head face. The tunnel will pass through residential and commercial areas. Currently, four TBMs are operational in different priority corridors for Phase IV of DMRC’s construction.

MeitY Transfers Cost-Effective Li-ion Battery Recycling Technology to 9 Industries and Start-ups

MeitY has transferred cost-effective Li-ion battery recycling technology to nine recycling industries and start-ups as part of the Mission LiFE under the “Promote circularity campaign.” The technology can process various types of discarded Li-ion batteries and recover more than 95% of their contents. These secondary raw materials can be used in battery manufacturing or other applications. The technology was developed by MeitY’s Centre of Excellence on E-waste management in collaboration with the Government of Telangana and industry partner Greenko Energies Pvt. Ltd. The effort has been praised by NITI Aayog and MeitY Secretary for its contribution to the circular economy and the development of low-cost technology.
