The recently inaugurated ‘Bharat Mandapam’ at Pragati Maidan witnessed a mesmerizing cultural presentation featuring 1250 artists. The event showcased the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat spirit, promoting cultural diversity and unity.
💼 India as a Global Business Destination:
PM Narendra Modi dedicated the ‘Bharat Mandapam’ as an International Exhibition-cum-Convention Centre. The center aims to attract global businesses, projecting India as a top-notch business destination with world-class infrastructure.
🔧 Skill Development for Marginalized Sections:
The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) expanded the scope of community development through Skill Development programs for marginalized individuals. The initiative targets Aspirational and Border Area Districts and offers non-formal, short-term, employment-oriented skill programs.
🔍 Government Job Opportunities:
Efforts are underway to fill 9,64,359 vacant posts in Government departments. Rozgar Mela events and other recruitment agencies are being utilized to speed up the process following a time-bound approach.
💳 Initiatives for Central Government Pensioners:
The government introduced several initiatives for Central Government Pensioners, including online pension processing, family record updates, grievance redressal through ‘CPENGRAM,’ and welfare programs.
🏞️ Forest Conservation Efforts Strengthened:
The Lok Sabha passed the Forest (Conservation) Amendment Bill 2023, which aims to enhance forest conservation efforts, promote afforestation in non-forest land, and fast-track strategic projects. The bill will benefit forest management, mitigate climate change impact, and support local communities.
📜 New National Cooperation Policy in the Works:
A committee led by Shri Suresh Prabhu is formulating a visionary policy for the cooperative sector. The policy aims to foster ‘Sahakar se Samriddhi’ and strengthen the cooperative movement. The Ministry is undertaking reforms to promote cooperative-based economic development.
💼 NSFDC Workshop for Socio-Economic Empowerment of Scheduled Castes:
A two-day Management Development Programme is scheduled on 27th-28th July 2023. The focus is on strengthening partnerships and discussing best practices for promoting income-generating projects for Scheduled Castes.
🏢 Permanent Aadhaar Enrolment Centre Inaugurated for Armed Forces:
The Department of Posts and Indian Army inaugurated the first Permanent Aadhaar Enrolment Centre (PAEC) at 1 Central Base Post Office, New Delhi. The centre will offer Aadhaar services for tri-services personnel and their dependents in 48 locations across the country through Field Post Offices.
🌾 Meri Maati Mera Desh Campaign:
The ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ campaign is set to culminate the Aazadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, with events in rural areas from 9th to 15th August 2023. Selected youths from 7500 blocks will gather in Delhi, carrying soil from villages, and the Vasudha Vandan program will involve planting 75 saplings per Gram Panchayat. ‘Shilaphalakam’ will honor the nation’s veers, and Jan Bhagidari is encouraged for widespread participation.

Panchayat elections in Jammu and Kashmir are scheduled to be held in October-November this year, as confirmed by the Election Commission.
⚽ Kargil Vijay Diwas Commemorated:
India commemorated Kargil Vijay Diwas to honor the valor and bravery of the Indian Army during the Kargil War. PM Narendra Modi and top military officials paid tribute to the fallen soldiers at the Kargil War Memorial in Drass, Ladakh.
🌍 UAE Reports New MERS-CoV Case:
The UAE reported a new case of MERS-CoV, prompting the World Health Organization (WHO) to call for vigilance. Global health authorities are urged to maintain strong surveillance and infection control measures.
🇧🇩 Bangladesh’s Rating Outlook Downgraded:
S&P downgraded Bangladesh’s rating outlook to negative from stable due to liquidity risks arising from a dollar crunch and shrinking dollar reserves. Moody’s also revised the outlook on Bangladesh’s banking system to negative. Bangladesh’s GDP growth fell to 6.3% in the financial year ending June 2023.

The Indian cricket team is set to face the West Indies in a 3-match ODI series starting at Kensington Oval, Bridgetown, Barbados. The match promises exciting cricketing action and will be followed by two more matches on different dates and venues.

🔬 Breakthrough Discovery: 2D Nanoflakes from Iron Ore Offer Protection to Optical Equipment:
Hematene nanoflakes were found to shield sensitive optical devices from laser-induced damage. Researchers have developed an efficient optical limiter with diverse applications in laser technology, military, telecommunications, and more. The promising results have been published in ACS Applied Optical Materials.
🚀 Chandrayaan-3 Nears the Moon:
ISRO’s Chandrayaan-3 successfully completed its fifth Earth orbit and is one step closer to its mission objective of a soft landing on the Moon. The mission aims to gather rare pictures and information from the lunar surface.
💼 ‘India AI’ and Meta Join Hands:
India AI and Meta signed an MoU to collaborate on AI & Emerging Technologies. The partnership aims to develop AI models tailored to India’s unique needs, foster social inclusion, and promote responsible AI practices. A Centre of Excellence for AI startups will be established.
