The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) expanded the scope of community development through Skill Development programs for marginalized individuals. The government introduced several initiatives for Central Government Pensioners, including online pension processing, family record updates, grievance redressal through ‘CPENGRAM,’ and welfare programs.

🏞️ Forest Conservation Efforts Strengthened:
The Lok Sabha passed the Forest (Conservation) Amendment Bill 2023, which aims to enhance forest conservation efforts, promote afforestation in non-forest land, and fast-track strategic projects. The bill will benefit forest management, mitigate climate change impact, and support local communities.

📜 New National Cooperation Policy in the Works:

💼 NSFDC Workshop for Socio-Economic Empowerment of Scheduled Castes:
A two-day Management Development Programme is scheduled on 27th-28th July 2023. The focus is on strengthening partnerships and discussing best practices for promoting income-generating projects for Scheduled Castes.

🏢 Permanent Aadhaar Enrolment Centre Inaugurated for Armed Forces:
The Department of Posts and Indian Army inaugurated the first Permanent Aadhaar Enrolment Centre (PAEC) at 1 Central Base Post Office, New Delhi. The centre will offer Aadhaar services for tri-services personnel and their dependents in 48 locations across the country through Field Post Offices.

🌾 Meri Maati Mera Desh Campaign:
The ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ campaign is set to culminate the Aazadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, with events in rural areas from 9th to 15th August 2023. Selected youths from 7500 blocks will gather in Delhi, carrying soil from villages, and the Vasudha Vandan program will involve planting 75 saplings per Gram Panchayat. ‘Shilaphalakam’ will honor the nation’s veers, and Jan Bhagidari is encouraged for widespread participation.

Panchayat elections in Jammu and Kashmir are scheduled to be held in October-November this year, as confirmed by the Election Commission.

⚽ Kargil Vijay Diwas Commemorated:
India commemorated Kargil Vijay Diwas to honor the valor and bravery of the Indian Army during the Kargil War. PM Narendra Modi and top military officials paid tribute to the fallen soldiers at the Kargil War Memorial in Drass, Ladakh.

🇧🇩 Bangladesh’s Rating Outlook Downgraded:
S&P downgraded Bangladesh’s rating outlook to negative from stable due to liquidity risks arising from a dollar crunch and shrinking dollar reserves. Moody’s also revised the outlook on Bangladesh’s banking system to negative. Bangladesh’s GDP growth fell to 6.3% in the financial year ending June 2023.

🔬 Breakthrough Discovery: 2D Nanoflakes from Iron Ore Offer Protection to Optical Equipment:

The promising results have been published in ACS Applied Optical Materials.

🚀 Chandrayaan-3 Nears the Moon:
