On May 2, 2023, the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade , New Delhi celebrated its 60th Foundation Day with great pomp and show. As one of the leading B-schools in India, IIFT has come a long way since its inception in 1963. Today, it has become an acknowledged centre of excellence in international trade and business, offering an impressive array of innovative MDPs/EDPs and achieving AACSB accreditation.

Remembering the Founding Father
On this significant occasion, Prof. Satinder Bhatia, Vice-Chancellor of IIFT, paid tribute to the founding Director General, Late Shri HD Shourie, who laid the foundation of IIFT with the motto, ‘Excellence is a way of life’. She stated that Shri Shourie was the father figure to IIFTians and his vision has guided the institute to reach great heights.
Honoring the Contributors
Prof. Bhatia further emphasized the importance of honoring those who have contributed to achieving IIFT’s vision of becoming a premier institution in the field of international business. She acknowledged the academic and administrative transformations implemented at IIFT’s Delhi and Kolkata campuses and expressed her confidence in the newly inaugurated Kakinada campus, which she believes will achieve excellence soon.

New Campus in GIFT City
From July 2023 onwards, the IIFT Campus in GIFT City, Gujarat, will also be operational, adding another milestone to its achievements. The inauguration of this campus will mark a new phase of growth, opening doors to a wider range of opportunities and collaborations.
Commemorative Issue of Foreign Trade Review Journal
On the occasion of its 60th Foundation Day, Indian Institute of Foreign Trade also released the commemorative issue of Foreign Trade Review (FTR) Journal, showcasing the institute’s contributions to the field of international trade and business.
