Indian Air Force Recruitment Out for 300+ Vacancies!

The Indian Air Force (IAF) is inviting well-motivated and qualified candidates to apply for positions as Group ‘A’ Gazetted Officers in Flying and Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical) branches. According to the official notification, there are 304 vacancies available. Candidates must be unmarried citizens of India as per the Indian Citizenship Act of 1955, and marriage is not permitted during training.

Age Limit

  • Flying Branch (AFCAT and NCC Special Entry): 20 to 24 years as of 01 July 2025 (born between 02 July 2001 and 01 July 2005). The upper age limit is extendable to 26 years for candidates with a valid Commercial Pilot License issued by DGCA (India).
  • Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical) Branch: 20 to 26 years as of 01 July 2025 (born between 02 July 1999 and 01 July 2005).

Qualification Required

  • Ground Duty (Technical) Branch:
    • Minimum of 50% marks each in Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level.
    • Four-year degree graduation/integrated post-graduation qualification in Engineering/Technology from a recognized University OR
    • Cleared Sections A and B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India or Graduate membership examination of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers.
  • Flying Branch:
    • Minimum of 50% marks each in Maths and Physics at 10+2 level.
    • Graduate degree (minimum three years) in any discipline with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent OR
    • BE/B.Tech degree (Four-year course) with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent OR
    • Cleared Section A and B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.

Short Service Commission (SSC)

  • Flying Branch (Men and Women): Engagement period is 14 years from the date of Commissioning.
  • Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical) SSC Officers: Initial tenure of 10 years, extendable by four years based on service requirements, vacancies, willingness, suitability, and merit.
  • Permanent Commission (PC): Considered based on service requirements, vacancies, willingness, suitability, and merit as per prevailing policies.

Selection Procedure

Candidates will be selected based on an Examination and Physical/Medical Standard Test conducted by the committee.

Application Fee

Candidates need to pay an application fee of Rs. 550 + GST (non-refundable) for AFCAT entry. This fee is not applicable for NCC special entry. The payment can be made online through the ‘Make Payment’ step on the main menu of the online application.

Eligible and interested candidates can apply online through the official website of the Indian Air Force. Applications must be submitted along with all required documents before the deadline. Late submissions will not be accepted.
