Indian Air Force Recruitment Rally, Bharti 2024

The Indian Air Force (IAF) is inviting Indian and Gorkha male candidates from specific regions to join as Airmen in the Group ‘Y’ Medical Assistant trade. The recruitment rally will take place from July 3, 2024, to July 12, 2024, at Base Repair Depot, Air Force, Chandigarh. Candidates must meet eligibility criteria regarding age, marital status, educational qualifications, domicile requirements, and medical standards. The selection process includes Physical Fitness Test, Written Test, Adaptability Test-II, and Medical Examination. Successful candidates will undergo training and receive a stipend during training period, followed by attractive pay and allowances upon completion.

Vacancy Details with Qualification:

  • Medical Assistant Trade:
    • For 10+2 Candidates: Unmarried, born between January 2, 2004, and January 2, 2008, with 10+2 qualification in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English, with minimum 50% aggregate and 50% in English.
    • For Diploma / B.Sc in Pharmacy Candidates: Unmarried candidates born between January 2, 2001, and January 2, 2006 (or married candidates born between January 2, 2001, and January 2, 2004), with 10+2 qualification in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English, with minimum 50% aggregate and 50% in English, along with Diploma / B.Sc in Pharmacy with minimum 50% aggregate and valid registration from State Pharmacy Council or Pharmacy Council of India.
Medical StandardRequirement
HeightMinimum acceptable height is 152.5 cms.
ChestThe chest should be well proportioned and well developed with a minimum range of expansion of 5 cms.
WeightProportionate to height and age as applicable for IAF.
HearingCandidate should have normal hearing, i.e., able to hear forced whisper from a distance of 6 meters by each ear separately.
DentalShould have healthy gums, a good set of teeth, and a minimum of 14 dental points.
Visual Standards– 6/36 vision in each eye, correctable to 6/9 in each eye.
– Refractive error not exceeding +3.50D including astigmatism.
– Corneal surgery (LASIK/RK/PRK) not acceptable.
– Candidates using corrective lenses must bring a recent prescription (not older than one month) and spectacles for corrected vision.
General Health– Candidates should be of normal anatomy without loss of any appendages.
– They should be free from any active or latent, acute or chronic, medical or surgical disability or communicable diseases, infection, and skin ailments.
– Candidates shall be physically and mentally FIT to perform duties in any part of the world, in any climate, and terrain.
Medical Standard Requirement – Mandatory

Salary Details:

During training, a stipend of Rs. 14,600/- per month will be provided. Upon completion of training, starting gross emoluments at the minimum of the pay scale, including Military Service Pay (MSP), is Rs. 26,900/- per month, along with additional allowances as per government instructions.

How to Apply:

  1. Visit the web portal www.airmenselection.cdac.in.
  2. Register online between May 22, 2024, and June 5, 2024.
  3. Download and print the Provisional Admit Card.
  4. Attend the recruitment rally at the designated venue on the scheduled date/time mentioned in the Provisional Admit Card.

Selection Process:

  1. Physical Fitness Test (PFT):
    • Consists of a 1.6 Km run to be completed within 7 minutes for candidates up to the age of 21 years and within 7 minutes 30 seconds for candidates above 21 years and holding a Diploma/B.Sc in Pharmacy.
    • Candidates must also complete 10 push-ups, 10 sit-ups, and 20 squats within the stipulated time to qualify.
  2. Written Test:
    • Objective type test with a duration of 45 minutes.
    • Bilingual question paper (English & Hindi), except for the English section.
    • Comprises English (20 questions) as per 10+2 CBSE syllabus and Reasoning & General Awareness (RAGA) (30 questions).
    • Candidates must qualify in each paper separately.
  3. Adaptability Test-II:
    • Conducted to select candidates who can adapt to the environment of the Indian Air Force and adjust to the military way of life.
    • The question paper is confidential and is provided only during the examination.
  4. Medical Examination:
    • Conducted by an Air Force Medical Team at SMC, Air Force Station Ambala in July 2024.
    • Baseline investigations include blood haemogram, urine analysis, biochemistry tests, X-ray chest (PA view), ECG, and any other test deemed necessary by the Medical Officer.
    • Candidates declared medically unfit can appeal through an Appeal Medical Board (AMB) by depositing a fee of Rs. 40/-.
