The Indian Coast Guard seeks eligible candidates for Assistant Commandant positions in General Duty (GD), Technical (Mechanical), and Technical (Electrical/Electronics) Branches.
Age Criteria and Tenure:
As per the official notification, candidates must be between 21 and 25 years old as of 01-07-2024. The appointed candidates will serve for a period of 44 weeks.
Qualifications and Vacancies:
Candidates must hold an Engineering degree from a recognized university. There are 70 vacancies available, as stated in the official Indian Coast Guard Recruitment 2024 notification.
Salary and Application Fee:
Selected candidates will receive a salary of up to Rs. 2,25,000 per month. General/OBC candidates must pay a Rs. 300 application fee, while SC/ST candidates are exempt from this fee.
Selection Process:
The selection process consists of stages I to V, including CGCAT, Preliminary Selection Board (PSB), Final Selection Board (FSB), Medical Examination, and Induction.

- Technical (Mechanical):
- Engineering degree in Naval Architecture, Mechanical, Marine, Automotive, Mechatronics, Industrial and Production, Metallurgy, Design, Aeronautical, or Aerospace with at least 60% aggregate marks.
- Mathematics and Physics as subjects up to Intermediate or class XII.
- Technical (Electrical/Electronics):
- Engineering degree in Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunication, Instrumentation, Instrumentation and Control, Electronics and Communication, Power Engineering, or Power Electronics with minimum 60% aggregate marks.
- Mathematics and Physics as subjects up to Intermediate or class XII.
Selection Criteria Details:
- The selection is based on all India merit and performance in various stages of examination.
- Stages include CGCAT, PSB, FSB, Medical Examination, and Induction.
- Clearing all stages is mandatory for recruitment in ICG.
