- A Master’s Degree in Archaeology, Indian History (with Ancient or Medieval Indian History), Anthropology (with Stone-age Archaeology), or Geology (with Pleistocene Geology) from a recognized University or Institute.
- A Postgraduate or Advanced Diploma in Archaeology of at least one year from a recognized University or Institute.
- At least three years of field experience in Archaeology.

The selected candidates will serve a probation period of one year. The primary place of posting will be New Delhi, with a liability to serve anywhere in India.

Selected candidates will receive a monthly salary at Level 10 of the pay matrix (Rs. 56100-177500), with total emoluments of Rs. 56100 plus applicable allowances.
