National Panchayati Raj Day to be Celebrated with a Whole-of-Government Approach on April 24th, 2023 in Madhya Pradesh!

National Panchayati Raj Day 2023 will be celebrated in Madhya Pradesh on April 24th, 2023, with a whole-of-government approach, aimed at strengthening the Panchayati Raj system in India.

PM Modi to attend National Panchayati Raj Day in Madhya Pradesh, inaugurating e-GramSwaraj and GeM portal, handing over SVAMITVA Property Cards, launching “Inclusive Development” campaign, conducting Griha Pravesh of over 4 lakh beneficiaries under PMAY-G program, and attending Ground-breaking ceremony of projects worth Rs. 7,000 crore under Jal Jeevan Mission.

1. Introduction:

The Ministry of Panchayati Raj, in collaboration with the Government of Madhya Pradesh, is commemorating National Panchayati Raj Day on April 24, 2023, at Rewa in Madhya Pradesh as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM) – Samaaveshi Vikaas (Inclusive Development), adopting a whole-of-the-government approach.

2. Inauguration of e-GramSwaraj and GeM portal:

The Prime Minister will inaugurate an integrated e-GramSwaraj and GeM portal for public procurement at the Panchayat level. The objective is to enable Panchayats to procure goods and services through GeM, leveraging the eGramSwaraj platform. Launching by PM Modi will encourage the Panchayats and local sellers to adopt this initiative, thereby helping the entire buyer-seller ecosystem to flourish, giving a boost to rural economy and entrepreneurship, and strengthening the Digital India Program.

3. Handing over of SVAMITVA Property Cards:

The Prime Minister will hand over SVAMITVA Property Cards to select beneficiaries, symbolizing the attainment of a milestone of 1.25 crore property cards distributed under SVAMITVA Scheme in the country. Under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM) Campaign for the theme “Inclusive Development,” a dedicated website and mobile app on “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav – SAMAAVESHI VIKAS” will be launched by the Prime Minister. The SVAMITVA – Meri Sampatti, Mera Haq campaign under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav – Samaaveshi Vikas – Inclusive Development theme aims to generate 1.50 crore “Records of Rights”/ Property Cards under SVAMITVA Scheme by August 2023.

4. Launch of the “Inclusive Development” campaign:

The national launch of the nine campaigns under the “Inclusive Development” theme of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav named “विकास की ओर साझे क़दम” covering five Ministries/ Departments viz. MoRD, MoPR, MoA&FW, MoH&FW, and MoFAH&D is aimed to celebrate the people’s participation in the saturation of people-centric schemes.

5. PMAY-G program:

The Prime Minister will conduct the ‘Griha Pravesh’ (ceremony performed when entering one’s new house) of more than 4 lakh beneficiaries under Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana–Gramin (PMAY–G). At present, 4.11 lakh houses are ready for the Griha Pravesh program.

6. Jal Jeevan Mission:

The Prime Minister will attend the Ground-breaking ceremony of projects worth about Rs.7,000 crore under Jal Jeevan Mission. Bhoomi Poojan of various works under Jal Jeevan Mission in Rewa District will be performed on this occasion. The Prime Minister will also flag-off the Rewa – Itwari Train and dedicate other Railway Projects to the Nation.
