National Technology Week: The Government of India proclaimed May 11th as the prestigious ‘National Technology Day’ in 1999. To commemorate the 25th year of National Technology Day and highlight significant technological advancements since 2014, this year’s celebration will extend into a week-long event from May 11th to May 14th, 2023.

The theme of this grand occasion is ‘School to Start-Up – Igniting Young Minds to Innovate.’ Students from CBSE schools across India, in collaboration with Atal Tinkering Labs under the Atal Innovation Mission of the Government of India, will actively participate and showcase their technological innovations at Hall No.4, Pragati Maidan, Delhi. Additionally, exhibitors from 12 Ministries of the Government of India will demonstrate a wide range of scientific innovations at Hall No.4 & 5A, Pragati Maidan, Delhi.

The esteemed event will commence with an inauguration ceremony by the Honorable Prime Minister on May 11th, 2023. This enriching exhibition will be open to the general public and students from May 11th, 2023 (3:00 pm onwards) until May 13th, 2023 (5:00 pm).

Celebrating National Technology Week in CBSE Schools

CBSE schools have a wonderful opportunity to actively participate in the celebration of ‘National Technology Week.’ By organizing a variety of activities within their campuses, schools can engage students and foster their interest in technology and innovation. Here are a few suggestions for organizing engaging events:

  1. Quiz Competition: Conduct a thrilling quiz competition that focuses on technological advancements, scientific discoveries, and innovations. This will not only enhance students’ knowledge but also encourage healthy competition.
  2. Poster Making Competition: Encourage students to unleash their creativity and artistic skills by organizing a poster making competition. The theme could revolve around technological innovation, the importance of science in daily life, or the role of technology in solving real-world problems.

For schools located in the Delhi-NCR region, it is highly recommended to plan a visit to the exhibition at Hall No.4, Pragati Maidan, Delhi, from May 11th, 2023 (3:00 pm onwards) to May 13th, 2023 (5:00 pm). This visit will expose students and teachers to a wide array of scientific innovations, providing them with valuable insights and inspiration.
