Attention students! If you’re eligible for the SC Scholarship Schemes 2022-23, make sure to link/seed your Aadhaar with your bank account before April 25th, 2023, to avoid payment delays.
Students belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC) category who are enrolled in Pre-Matric and Post-Matric Scholarship Schemes for the academic year 2022-23! The National Scholarship Portal (NSP) has issued a notification stating that payment files for the aforementioned scholarship schemes could not be generated due to the non-seeding or linking of Aadhaar with their respective bank accounts.
As per the table provided by the NSP, out of the 633 students verified on the NSP for the Centrally Sponsored Pre Matric Scholarship For SC Students Studying In Classes IX And X, payment files were generated for only 314 students, while 319 students’ payment files were not generated due to non-linkage of Aadhaar with bank accounts. Similarly, out of the 5,950 students verified on NSP for the Centrally Sponsored Post Matric Scholarship For SC Students, payment files were generated for 3,976 students, while 1,974 students’ payment files were not generated due to non-linkage of Aadhaar with bank accounts.
It is important to note that the scholarships will be disbursed directly to the students’ bank accounts only through the Aadhaar Based Payment System (Aadhaar Payment Bridge) via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). Therefore, all concerned students are directed to link or seed their Aadhaar with their respective bank accounts on or before April 25th, 2023, to avoid any delay or inconvenience in receiving their scholarship amounts.
In conclusion, students enrolled in Pre-Matric and Post-Matric Scholarship Schemes for the academic year 2022-23, who belong to the Scheduled Caste (SC) category, must link or seed their Aadhaar with their respective bank accounts before April 25th, 2023. This will ensure that their scholarship amounts are disbursed directly to their bank accounts via the Aadhaar Based Payment System (Aadhaar Payment Bridge) via DBT.
Online Process To seed or link your Aadhaar with your bank account
- Visit your bank’s website and log in to your account using your username and password.
- Go to the ‘Update Aadhaar Card Details’ or ‘Link Aadhaar’ option.
- Enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number in the space provided.
- Click on ‘Submit’ or ‘Link Aadhaar.’
- The bank will verify your Aadhaar details with the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI).
- Once the verification process is complete, your Aadhaar will be linked to your bank account.
Alternatively, you can also link your Aadhaar with your bank account by visiting your bank’s branch and submitting a written application along with a photocopy of your Aadhaar card.
Offline Process
- Visit your bank branch and ask for an Aadhaar linking or seeding form.
- Fill out the form with your personal details such as name, bank account number, Aadhaar number, and other necessary information.
- Attach a photocopy of your Aadhaar card with the form.
- Submit the form and Aadhaar photocopy to the bank executive.
- The bank executive will verify the details and process your request for Aadhaar seeding or linking.
- Once the verification process is complete, your Aadhaar will be linked to your bank account.
It is important to note that while the online process is faster and more convenient, the offline process is also available for those who prefer it.
