SAIL-Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) and Telecommunications Consultants India Limited (TCIL) have signed an MoU to explore the potential of applying 5G, IT, and telecom technologies in SAIL-Bokaro Steel Plant, including SAIL’s Mines & Collieries, Central Coal Supply Organization, and the SAIL Refractory Unit in Jharkhand. The MoU was signed on 21st April 2023.
SAIL-BSL to Establish Dedicated 5G Network with TCIL’s Assistance
SAIL-BSL will establish a dedicated 5G network with the assistance of TCIL. This partnership will allow for the application of 5G, IT, and telecom technologies in steel manufacturing. Additionally, it will provide innovative solutions for SAIL Mines and Collieries in Jharkhand, Smart Cities, and other areas. SAIL-BSL will be the first PSU in India to take this initiative.
TCIL’s Expertise in Providing Turnkey Solutions for Deployment and Maintenance of 5G/IT/Telecom Technologies
Ms. Alka Selot Asthana, Executive Director (IT & Telecom) of TCIL, elaborated that the company has the necessary expertise, experience, and resources to provide turnkey solutions for deployment, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of 5G, IT, and telecom technologies for SAIL-BSL.
Signing of the MoU by SAIL-BSL and TCIL
The MoU was signed at SAIL’s Bokaro Steel Plant on 21st April 2023, with B.K.Tiwari, Executive Director (Works) signing from SAIL-BSL’s side and Ms. Alka Selot Asthana, Executive Director (IT & Telecom) signing from TCIL’s side. The signing took place in the presence of senior officials from both organizations.
