Trilateral Coast Guard Exercise ‘Dosti 16’: Indian and Sri Lankan coast guard ships recently collaborated with the Maldives for Exercise Dosti 16, a trilateral coast guard exercise held every two years since 1991. Sri Lanka joined in 2012, and this year’s edition involves the Coast Guards of India, Sri Lanka, and the Maldives, with observers from Bangladesh. The exercise emphasizes mutual operational capability, interoperability, and cooperation in scenarios such as sea accidents and pollution.

India’s Largest Drone Pilot Training Facility: The Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IIT-G) has launched India’s largest drone pilot training facility, aligning with PM Narendra Modi’s ‘Namo Drone Didi’ initiative. Discovery of Ancient Chalukya Temples in Telangana: Two Badami Chalukya temples, estimated to be 1,300-1,500 years old, along with a 1,200-year-old label inscription, were unearthed in Mudimanikyam village, Telangana, near the Krishna River. The Chalukyas, who ruled the Deccan from the 6th to 12th centuries, encompassed the Badami Chalukyas and the sibling dynasties of the Western and Eastern Chalukyas. Pulakesi I established the dynasty in 550, with Badami as the capital, while Pulakesi II expanded the empire before losing Vatapi to Pallava Narasimhavarman.

CBI Raids in Kiru Hydel Project Corruption Probe: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) conducted raids related to alleged corruption in awarding a contract for the Kiru Hydel Project in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar district, focusing on the former Governor.
