4500 Vacancies to be filled in Jal Shakti Vibhag, Check More cabinet Approvals

The Himachal Pradesh State Cabinet, under the leadership of Chief Minister Sukhwindar Singh Sukhu, took significant decisions during its recent meeting. Among the key resolutions:

Recruitment in Jal Shakti Vibhag

The State Government has approved the recruitment of 4,500 para-employees in the Jal Shakti Vibhag. This decision was made during the Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Sukhwindar Singh Sukhu. The process to fill these positions will commence promptly within the department.

Project Allocation Cancellation and Aid for Disaster-Affected Families:

The Cabinet also decided to revoke the allocation of 780 megawatts for the Jungi-Thopan-Powari Hydro Electric Power Project undertaken by SJVN Ltd. The decision follows the project’s failure to progress within the stipulated timeframe. Additionally, to support families affected by natural calamities and rendered homeless due to monsoon-related disasters, the government has allocated Rs. 75 lakhs for providing rental assistance.

Amendments and Approvals:

Furthermore, the Cabinet approved the amendment of rules related to Cooperative Societies in Himachal Pradesh, 1971, aiming to empower operational cooperative societies. It sanctioned ten vacancies for Horticulture Development Officers and other pivotal positions across various departments, totaling 35 vacancies to be filled imminently.

Development Plan Approvals:

In a move focused on safeguarding against unsafe construction, the Cabinet granted approval for development plans in Shimla, Kullu, and Chaupal. Specifically, eight new green belts were included in Shimla, intending to impose a complete ban on construction activities within these marked green zones.

Other Notable Decisions:

Additionally, the Cabinet decided to reintroduce the State Administrative Tribunal and make necessary amendments to facilitate better utilization of stored gold and silver in the state’s temples.
