CSIR UGC NET / JRF Exam June 2024, Apply Online Now at NTA (csirnet.ntaonline.in)

The National Testing Agency (NTA) in collaboration with the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) has released the notification for the CSIR UGC NET / JRF Exam June 2024. Interested candidates can apply online from May 1, 2024, to May 21, 2024. The exam will be held from June 25 to June 27, 2024. Eligibility criteria, subject details, application process, and other relevant information are provided in the notification.

Qualification Details:

  • M.Sc / Equivalent Degree with 55% Marks for General / OBC Candidates.
  • For SC / ST and PH Candidates: 50% Marks.
  • Integrated Course and B.E/ B.Tech / B.Pharma and MBBS Candidates Are Also Eligible for CSIR NET 2024.

Mode of Examinations:

The examinations will be conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode.

Pattern of Question Papers:

The test will consist of three parts, all with objective type multiple-choice questions. There will be no break between papers. Below are the subject-wise schemes of examination:

Chemical Sciences (701):

  • Total Questions: 120
  • Parts: A (20 questions), B (40 questions), C (60 questions)
  • Maximum Number of Questions to Attempt: A (15), B (35), C (25) – Total (75)
  • Marks for Each Correct Answer: A (2), B (2), C (4) – Total (200)
  • Negative Marking: A, B, and C have negative marking at 25% for incorrect answers.

Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean and Planetary Sciences (702):

  • Total Questions: 150
  • Parts: A (20 questions), B (50 questions), C (80 questions)
  • Maximum Number of Questions to Attempt: A (15), B (35), C (25) – Total (75)
  • Marks for Each Correct Answer: A (2), B (2), C (4) – Total (200)
  • Negative Marking: A and B have negative marking at 25%, and C has negative marking at 33% for incorrect answers.

Life Sciences (703):

  • Total Questions: 145
  • Parts: A (20 questions), B (50 questions), C (75 questions)
  • Maximum Number of Questions to Attempt: A (15), B (35), C (25) – Total (75)
  • Marks for Each Correct Answer: A (2), B (2), C (4) – Total (200)
  • Negative Marking: A, B, and C have negative marking at 25% for incorrect answers.

Mathematical Sciences (704):

  • Total Questions: 120
  • Parts: A (20 questions), B (40 questions), C (60 questions)
  • Maximum Number of Questions to Attempt: A (15), B (25), C (20) – Total (60)
  • Marks for Each Correct Answer: A (2), B (3), C (4.75) – Total (200)
  • Negative Marking: A and B have negative marking at 25%; there is no negative marking in Part C.

Physical Sciences (705):

  • Total Questions: 75
  • Parts: A (20 questions), B (25 questions), C (30 questions)
  • Maximum Number of Questions to Attempt: A (15), B (20), C (20) – Total (55)
  • Marks for Each Correct Answer: A (2), B (3.5), C (5) – Total (200)
  • Negative Marking: A, B, and C have negative marking at 25% for incorrect answers.

  1. Visit the official website and navigate to the CSIR UGC NET June 2024 application portal.
  2. Fill in the required details and upload necessary documents such as photo, signature, ID proof, etc.
  3. Verify all the entered information and pay the application fee online.
  4. After successful submission, take a printout of the final submitted form for future reference.
