CBSE Announces Games for 2023-24: Get Ready to Play and Excel!

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Education, Government of India, has recently released a circular announcing the CBSE Games for the academic year 2023-24. These games aim to promote physical fitness and sportsmanship among students while providing them with a platform to showcase their athletic talents. The CBSE Games are organized at various levels, from Cluster to Zonal and National, and encompass a wide range of disciplines for both girls and boys.

CBSE Games Details:

The circular, bearing the reference number Acad-100/2023 and dated 23rd August 2023, provides comprehensive information about the CBSE Games. All schools affiliated with CBSE under the Independent Private Category are invited to participate. The circular outlines the following key details:

1. List of Games and Age-Groups:

The circular provides a detailed list of games offered at Cluster, Zonal, and National levels. These games cover a variety of disciplines, including Athletics, Basketball, Football, Kabaddi, Kho Kho, Table Tennis, Volleyball, Archery, Badminton, Chess, and more. Age-groups range from Under 11 to Under 19 years, ensuring fair competition based on age.

2. Online Proposal and Registration:

Schools interested in organizing these events can submit online proposals through the CBSE website’s dedicated sports system. They can access the portal by visiting or Schools are required to ensure they have appropriate facilities as per the Sports Authority of India’s specifications.

3. Online Registration of Players:

Participating schools are required to register their students online, generating a unique UID for each student. This UID remains constant throughout the student’s tenure in CBSE-affiliated schools. Students’ participation in specific sports events requires a two-step process: registration and application to participate.

4. Mapping of Schools and Correct Data Entry:

Schools are advised to verify their mapping in their respective clusters to ensure proper participation. Accurate data entry of participant details, such as name, date of birth, and chosen event, is crucial, as no corrections will be allowed after the deadline.

5. Age-Criteria and Participation:

Participants’ age will be determined as of 31st December 2023. Students falling under the specified age-groups are eligible to participate in various events, both team and individual. Winners and runners-up in these events will proceed to the CBSE Nationals.

6. Sports Grant and Videography:

Organizing schools receive a sports grant from CBSE for arranging events. Videography is mandatory for transparency and fairness, with the expenses to be covered by the grant.

7. Accommodation and Meals:

The organizing school must arrange accommodation and meals for participating teams/individuals, with participants contributing a nominal fee.

8. Annual Sports Fee:

An annual sports fee of Rs. 10,000 is required from independent private schools at the time of depositing the registration fee online.
