New Delhi, October 14, 2023 In a significant move to support the educational aspirations of India’s young minds, the Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship for College and University Students (CSSS) continues to make a substantial impact on the lives of students. Sponsored by the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, this scholarship program has been providing financial assistance to meritorious students since 2008. The scheme aims to assist students with a family income of less than Rs.4.5 lakh per annum to help cover their day-to-day expenses during higher education. Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship: Nurturing Excellence

The CSSS has been a pillar of support for bright students, ensuring they have the financial resources necessary to excel in their academic pursuits. With an annual target of 82,000 scholarships, divided equally between boys and girls, this scheme reaches out to students between the ages of 18 and 25. To be eligible, a student must have scored above the 80th percentile in their class XII exams, and they should be pursuing a regular course without availing benefits from any other scholarship.

The scholarship is not only generous but also efficient. It is disbursed directly into the recipients’ savings bank accounts through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system, making the process smooth and hassle-free.
