On April 13th, 2023, the next phase of Exercise Cope India 23 will begin at Air Force Station Kalaikunda, as announced by PIB Delhi. This stage of the exercise will involve the participation of B1B bombers from the United States Air Force (USAF), along with F-15 fighter planes, which will join the exercise at a later stage. The Indian Air Force (IAF) will contribute Su-30 MKI, Rafale, Tejas, and Jaguar fighter planes to the exercise, which will be supported by aerial refuellers, Airborne Warning and Control System, and Airborne Early Warning and Control aircraft. The exercise is scheduled to end on April 24th, 2023.
In addition to enhancing professional relations between the two air forces and sharing best practices, this phase of Ex Cope-India-23, like the air mobility component, will also provide an opportunity for personnel from the Japanese Air Self Defence Force to observe the exercise and interact with the participating air forces.
