India’s Bharat 6G Alliance Launches to Drive Innovation in Next-Generation Wireless Technology
The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) in India has launched the Bharat 6G Alliance (B6GA) to drive innovation and collaboration in next-generation wireless technology. Over 75 innovators were felicitated, and Rs. 48 crore was granted to 66 startups and MSMEs under the Digital Communication Innovation Square (DCIS). Additionally, two agreements were signed with a grant of Rs. 240.5 crores under the Telecom Technology Development Fund (TTDF) scheme. India has achieved significant milestones, such as installing over 2.7 lakh 5G towers and expanding 4G coverage to 99%. The country aims to lead in 6G technology and co-create technology with the United States. The B6GA seeks to establish consortia that drive the design, development, and deployment of 6G technologies in India, promoting indigenous manufacturing and technology co-innovation. The Telecom Technology Development Fund (TTDF) scheme supports research and development in the telecom sector and bridges the digital divide.
Online Financial Account Filing: Election Commission Introduces Web Portal for Political Parties
The Election Commission has launched a web portal for political parties to file financial accounts online. Government Securities Auction: Re-Issued Bonds for Sale in India – July 2023
The Government of India (GoI) will conduct an auction to sell re-issued government securities with different interest rates and maturity dates. Successful bidders will make payments on July 10, 2023. The securities will be eligible for “When Issued” trading as per the guidelines set by the Reserve Bank of India.
DAY-NRLM Launches eSARAS Mobile App to Boost Marketing of Women’s SHG Products
The Deendayal Antyodaya Yojna- National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM) has launched the eSARAS mobile App to support the marketing of products made by women in Self-help Groups (SHGs). The app, along with the eSARAS Fulfillment Centre, will facilitate the processing, packaging, and shipping of SHG products. The initiative aims to promote local products and provide livelihood opportunities for SHG households. DAY-NRLM’s marketing strategy includes online initiatives like the eSARAS App and Portal, as well as on-ground events such as SARAS Melas and Saras Food Festivals. The support extended by DAY-NRLM has been well received by SHGs nationwide.
Coal Production Surges by 8.4% in Q1 FY 2023-24: Significant Growth Achieved by Coal India Ltd
The Ministry of Coal reports an 8.4% increase in coal production in Q1 of FY 2023-24, reaching 222.93 million tonnes. Coal India Ltd achieved a production growth of 9.85% to 175.35 MT. Coal dispatch also increased by 6.97% in Q1, while the coal stock position grew by 37.62% to 107.15 MT. These accomplishments reflect India’s commitment to meeting energy demands and fostering economic growth.
