The Department of Posts is set to host the Universal Postal Union (UPU) 2024 – International Letter Writing Competition, geared towards young individuals. This event aims to nurture the art of composition and depth of thought among youth while fostering international camaraderie.
Coordinated by the International Bureau (IB) of UPU, the competition will recognize three outstanding entries from each member country. These winners will be honored with prestigious Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals, accompanied by certificates and additional prizes. At the national and circle levels, the Department of Posts will select the top three entries, awarding them cash prizes and certificates. The national winner will represent India in the international competition organized by UPU. Participants can submit their entries in either English or any of the languages listed in the 8th Schedule of the Indian Constitution. Detailed guidelines and participation rules are outlined in annexures I and II. Participation in this enriching competition is voluntary.
School principals are encouraged to facilitate this competition within their institutions for interested students, in collaboration with the Nodal Officers of their respective circles/regions, following the successful model of 2023.
